Women’s Health & Hormones presentation

Notes from the presentation

If you’ve ever thought, read online, or been told that your hormones might be out of balance, this free presentation is for you. And, if you think that your hormones are making you feel tired – this event is definitely for you!

In this online event, we’re going to talk women’s business. We’ll look at oestrogen, progesterone, PCOS, perimenopause and abdominal pain, and discuss how we can support our hormones as busy women living in these modern times. This event will focus on women’s health in a meaningful and empowering way, backed by a powerful combination of science and personal experience of Health Consultant Kristan Kershaw, BSc(Hons).

Instead of listening to Dr Google or well-meaning friends (who haven’t done their research), come along to this event! We’d love to support you to take charge of your health, reduce your symptoms and feel better overall.

Kristan covered the following areas during the webinar:

    • Introducing women’s health and hormones: understanding the common thread
    • Some family context
    • What do oestrogen, progesterone, PCOS, endometriosis, perimenopause and symptoms like abdominal pain, all have in common?
    • How hormones and minerals are connected
    • So what minerals are we talking about?
    • Let’s talk about stress, baby!
    • Supporting your hormones (no matter what your age)
    • Teen to 30s
    • Approaching perimenopause
    • Menopause
    • How we can help

More specific topics and questions covered in this session include:

    • The webinar emphasised the interplay between hormones and minerals, particularly magnesium, copper, and iron.
    • The connection between how stress impacts mineral balance, leading to symptoms like excessive bleeding and PCOS was also covered.
    • Kristan highlighted the importance of whole food sources and avoiding synthetic vitamins. She also covered the impact of synthetic components in multivitamins and calcium supplementation.
    • Why practices like blood donation to manage iron levels benefit women at all stages, but especially during perimenopause and menopause
    • The critical need for self-care, emotional support, and alternative therapies.
    • How the cumulative effects of stress impacts our hormones
    • The benefit of paying attention to food consumed (aiming for the best we can manage at the time), as well as the impact of other environmental or lifestyle choices on our health.
    • To support hormonal health and overall well-being, doing less, not more, can be beneficial.
    • Ways to help support bone health were covered
    • Kristan answered questions about why blood donations help us and what can we do if we are experiencing imbalances leading to fainting and having heart issues.
